Here are some of my latest projects!

 For this project, i used old t shirt, and leggings color black. feathers, glue gun , rope, fabric , cardboard. 

this is an Ifugao or Igorot  costume.

 I used news paper, and plastic to make this old dress into a beautiful gown. The roses are from newspaper.

The basket is also from newspaper. The basket is so easy to make. Just cut strips of newspaper, fold it, weave it. The theme for this project is recycling.

 My model is wearing a news paper headband. The roses are from old newspaper.

 United Nations week. The snake is made from paper mache and gold glitters.

the head dress is a piece of gold satin with gold trimmings and gold garland beads for the hair.

 The dress is made from satin fabric. It's 55 pesos per meter. I used around 1 1/4 m. for the 

dress. 

 Here is my model, wearing the costume of Miss Egypt.  

And the winner is......Miss Egypt BEST IN COSTUME!

August 2011 Activity

Early August of this year, the Iloilo Philippines Stake had the jubilee photo exhibit about the growth of the church here in the country and in Iloilo City. The opening celebration was attended by our city mayor, Patrick J. Mabilog and some city counselors. This was held in Lapaz Chapel. In this picture Manny, Esther Ruth and Ephraim had wonderful time learning more about the growth of the church.

This box came from L.A. through the generosity of Ate Gie. We got foods, chocolate, clothes shoes, and books. My children love the books . Ate Gie send us at least 2 boxes a year. Thanks ATE.

My youngest daughter turned 9 years old last Aug. 3. she celebrated it with her classmates in SPED, school for exceptional children, Multiple Intelligence  Sequence. There are 13 girls and 12 boys. Mrs Gapit is their adviser. She enjoyed the wonderful party with her classmates.

My family attended the San Jose Antique District conference. We were with Elder Misalucha, the mission president, Pres Pagaduan and his family and the 2nd counselor of the Iloilo mission presidency. The kids enjoyed their stay in the hotel. The two girls are Hannah and Keziah Pagaduan. It was also Pres Pagaduan's 36th birthday. We ate dinner at Regina's Restaurant in San Jose. Our breakfast the following day was served in the hotel. The food were good. We were full, just enough to last for the sunday conference. We heard great  
talks from our leaders.

Iloilo and north philippines stake Jubilee Celebration

May 14, 2011 the 2 stakes combined to have a cultural celebration for the 50th aniversary of the church. Alex Balsomo directed the whole event. It was held in Alta Tiera Convention center, Jaro Iloilo. Mayor Jed Mabilog and some city counselors were our guests. Elder Abenir Pajaro from the area seventy was also around to preside. The convention center was filled, more than a thousand attended. The show started with historical background of Iloilo and how the church came to be. Then a very joyful celebration of culture through songs and dances were shown. We were entertained and edified with the talents our youth and others members.

One Heart, One Mind / 50th Jubilee Celebration!

Latter day saints MARK 50TH YEAR IN THE PHILIPPINES

Thousands of Mormons gathered at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City last Saturday night to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Philippines. More than 4,500 members, including children and youth, performed songs and dances that depict the Church's history as well as local history and culture. Traditional songs and lively dances were chosen to depict the cultures unique to the country. The youth started practicing their dance routines as early as two years ago. "This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our young members to demonstrate their talents and come together to celebrate the founding of the Church in the Philippines,” said Elder Miguel R Valdez, Area Seventy for the church and Chairman of the Jubilee Committee." The chance to celebrate a 50th anniversary doesn't come around too often." The show took the audience through the colorful history of the Philippines from pre-colonial days to the war years and the present. Intertwined in the script is the beginning and growth of the Church in the country. Historians said that the Philippines was opened to the church's missionary effort on April 28. 1961. Elder Gordon B. Hinckley, who later became the world president of the Church, was joined by about 150 servicemen and their families at the American war Memorial in Makati in a special service held for this purpose. The first four Mormon missionaries arrived in the Philippines in June 1961. Eight Filipinos were baptized that year. Fifty years later, Church membership has grown to over 650,000 with over 1,200 congregations nationwide. Senior leaders of the Church as well as government and community leaders attended the event. The cultural celebration was also witnessed by thousands of members of the Church throughout the archipelago via live satellite.  Me and my family watched it via satellite in Arevalo Chapel, iloilo City. We were so happy to see the cultural celebration. The following day, Sunday , we gathered again in the Arevalo Stake center to hear from our leaders in Manila and in Salt Lake city. Since the Philippines was rededicated for missionary work on  28 April 28 1961 by President Gordon B. Hinckley (then Assistant to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles),  the church's growth has been unparalled.
