Baptism!

And their children shall be baptized for the remission of their sins when eight years old, and receive the laying on of the hands (D&C 68:27).
Last Saturday, August 14, 2010, our youngest daughter Ewemiz entered into the waters of baptism. She turned 8 last Aug 3. She was scheduled to be baptized the second Saturday but she was so sick with fever that we have to make another sched. We were all excited to have this last baptism in our family. More fun and exciting because Ephraim who turned 16 this year , had the honor to baptized her. He was so nervous during the baptism that he had to immerse Ewemiz twice . We asked Ewemiz how she felt during the baptism, she said she was like drowning , Her Dad , Manny bestowed the Gift of the Holy Ghost to her and pronounced wonderful blessings and promises. Later she shared her beautiful feeling and testimony. We prepared refreshment so it was such a great day for all of us. Indeed Ewemiz is now officially a member of the Chuch of Jesus Christ of Latter-daySaints.

My Garden!

You don’t need a big space to have a garden at home. In our house, we have a small vacant lot near my washing area. I transformed it into a useful one, so i planted okras, camote tops, kankong, alugbati and squash. Now i can cook sinigang and harvest fresh veggies right at my backyard. Laswa and steamed okra with bagoong or vinegar, yummy! And your veg are free from chemicals! Go for organic.

Our 17th year wedding Anniversary!

We were married in the Philippines Manila Temple of June 26, 1993. It was saturday and was a rainy morning. Yesterday, June 26, 2010 marked our 17th year. Manny and I went out to have a dinner date. We drove around the city to find some good place to eat. Since it was around 8 pm, we couldn't decide where to eat. With all the effort we made in driving around the city, we ended up eating in Kenny Rogers, SM city. Well it was fun as we roam around and reminiscing our first night. We had laughter and some "kilig" moments . I love my husband even more!

Cebu City Philippines Temple Dedicated

My Thoughts and Feelings:

My family attended the Temple dedication. It was breathtaking to see for the first a temple dedication!

Had a morning walk from hotel to temple.what a beautiful morning seeing the temple and be with ur husband for that short early mornibg walk.(June 12, 2010 am)

The youth from all over Visayas and Mindanao presented songs and dances that showed Filipino culture . It lasted about two hours. We went to the Colliseum as early as 2pm sensing that many will watch the show. The effort made by those youths were truly a remarkable, a sign of deep commitment and testimony to the lord. It was hot in there , in fact many of the performers fainted but it was worth it ! My joy was full coz i saw Pres. Monson in the cultural show ! he is truly a man of God!(June 12,2010 5pm)

Attended the temple ddcation. Manny and I were seated inside the temple and saw Pres Monson 4times!I had mixed emotion during the ddcation. The spirit of the Lord was so strong that moved me to tears. Manny had teary eyes too! I can't believe that i saw Pres Monson and i can almost touch him. Ephraim and Esther were watching the ddcation via sattelite in the Lahug Chapel which is inside the temple complex. They enjoyed and felt the spirit too. Pres Monson was so relaxed and enjoyed the ddcation. He had so many jokes and even played the piano during the cornerstone sealing! My youngest daughter was not able to witness coz she's only 7 .

Here are some Photos:

Prior to the dedication, President Monson sealed the temple cornerstone, a tradition marking the end of construction and the beginning of the sacred work inside the temple.

“It’s a beautiful temple,” said President Monson, of the Church’s 133rd operating temple. “It sits as a beacon on the hill.”

Before the Cebu City Philippines Temple was dedicated, Latter-day Saints traveled from all over the country to attend the Manila temple. Now, more than 200,000 members of the Church living in the Visayas and Mindanao areas will be served by the Cebu temple.

Also attending the dedicatory services were President Henry B. Eyring, first counselor in the First Presidency; Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles; Bishop H. David Burton, Presiding Bishop of the Church; and Elder William R. Walker of the Seventy.

Saturday evening, a cultural celebration was held at which more than 3,000 people between the ages of 12 and 18 retold the rich cultural history of the area through song and dance.

Prior to the dedication, more than 45,000 people from many faiths were given a guided tour of the temple during a two-week open house.

Seminaries and Institutes Pre School Convention 2010 (National)

Manny's work is connected with Seminaries and Institutes of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Currently we are assigned in Panay Island. This a great oppurtunity to work with the youth of the church helping and teaching them the gospel of Jesus Christ. Yearly as husband and wife, we get to be instructed and trained by our leaders and general authority. This year's theme is found in D & C 12:8," And no one can assist in this (the Lord's) work except he (S&I men) shall be humble and full of love, having faith, hope, and charity, being temperate in all things, whatsoever (wive, children, work) shall be entrusted to his care."
The training emphasis was on our relationship as husband and wife, and to our children and how to strenghten family relationship. I' m grateful so much for this kind of training and instruction, it helps build our relationship as partner and parents to our children then eventually how we can help our youth have their own families founded on the foundation of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Here are some pics taken from our Convention held in Marco Polo Hotel, Cebu City, last May 26-28, 2010.

Cebu Philippines Temple Open house

Patron House

Cebu Temple

Last May 27 and 28 , 2010 , me and Manny went to Cebu Philippines Temple for the open house. After 20+ years, Philippines has a new Temple located in Cebu City making it the 2nd. It was in the year 2006 where Pres. Hinckley announced the temple. So finally it is about to be dedicated this June 13, 2010. The Temple area has the temple itself, Patron house, stake center, mission office and mission home. As we toured in the Temple, i felt peaceful feeling inside especially in the celestial room. It is a very beautiful building. Indeed it is a house of the Lord. The spirit is so strong there. The Mindanao and Visayas area are so happy and blessed to have this Cebu Temple because it is nearer than the Manila Temple. We will go back on June 13th , our 3 kids will be with us. We will watch the cultural show as well on the 12th. Here are some photos of the temple open house.
